What Rs 310,000 actually did.

Ramadan packages are calorie-dense, family-sized, 30-day food kits. The number of families reached scales linearly with funds received — no overhead, no friction.

~50
Family Packages
Estimated based on Rs 6,000–7,000 per 30-day Ramadan ration package in 2026 PK pricing.
30 days
Coverage
Each package covers a family of 5–7 for the full month of Ramadan: flour, rice, oil, dates, ghee, sugar, lentils.
0%
Overhead
Volunteer-distributed via the Pakistan chapter — every dollar reached a beneficiary household.
60–70%
Annual Giving Window
Ramadan concentrates the majority of Muslim charitable giving — this campaign is QIF’s capacity test for the year.

Why the Ramadan campaign matters strategically.

Ramadan is the single largest annual fundraising window for Muslim charities. Industry surveys put 60–70% of total annual giving inside this 30-day period. Capacity built here compounds every other month.

The Rs 310,000 raised in February 2026 is QIF’s real-world capacity proof point — the Canadian chapter’s ability to mobilise the existing donor base for a time-bound, high-conviction campaign. Year 1 of QIF’s strategic plan uses Ramadan as exactly this test, and FY 2026 cleared it.

The work itself is unglamorous and effective: shopping lists, bulk-pack rations, vehicle hire, last-mile distribution to families on the Pakistan team’s vetted list. Recipients keep their dignity — packages are delivered to homes, not collected from a queue.

The Canadian-funded Ramadan Package runs in parallel with the Pakistan-side Ramzan Rashan Program (Rs 200,000 target, separate donor base). Together they bookend the same 30 days from two directions.

“Ramadan is the proving ground. If we cannot mobilise the family in February, we cannot mobilise the diaspora in October.”
